Hoover Grille
On Monday, June 25, 2007 the Fork girls gathered at Hoover Grille for the month's dining experience. We had a good turnout this month with 12 attendees... including our youngest ever Fork girl, Shannen, who is 3. We had a few new attendees also.
I chose Hoover Grille on atmosphere alone. It was listed in the Columbus Dispatch as one of the best restaurants in Columbus for waterfront dining. The place looks like a yacht club. The decor is simple, airy, and elegant. There is a patio overlooking Hoover Reservoir, but our group was too large for the patio.
Here are my ratings:
Reservations: 5 forks, super easy.
Atmosphere: 5 forks... the view is phenomenal. It just doesn't get much better in Columbus, frankly.
Staff: 5 forks. They took very good care of us. We even got hugs.
Food: 4 forks. It's not the best food we've ever had at a Fork event, but it was very good. The menu is pretty basic - salads, calamari, ribs, sandwiches, pasta, etc.
Stay tuned for the invitation to next month's Fork. Next month marks our one year anniversary of these events!
